He is survived by: his wife Simonia Irma Horne; his children, Juanita Belinar, Ramona Horne, Shawntae Horne, Cliff McKenzie, James McKenzie, Eric McKenzie, Richard Horne Jr., Charles Michael Horne, John Horne and Anthony Horne; his siblings, David Horne, Nellie B. Smith and Mary Alice McMillian; and his niece Felicia A. Horne-Murchison. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
