He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Douglas and Fannie Byrd Melton; his siblings, James Melton and Margaret Johnson; and his brother-in-law Johnny Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Gambill Melton; his sister-in-law Jane Gambill Wishon (Edwin); his nephew Rev. John Wishon (Becca); and his niece Sharon Johnson of Houghton. He is also survived by several cousins, and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery fund.
