Elmer Rayvaughn Byrd Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elmer Rayvaughn Byrd of Elkin, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 21, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Byrd and Pauline Byrd; his wife Virginia Call Byrd; and his brother Dwayne Byrd. He is survived by: his children, Jennifer King (T. P.) of State Road, Jeff Byrd (Heather Combs) of Reidsville and Julie Simpson (Matthew) of State Road; his siblings, Dr. Gary Byrd (Carolyn) of Elkin, Sybil Caudill (Teddy) of State Road and Brenda Pack of Elkin; his grandchildren, Nichole Meyerhoffer (Justin), Hayley Stamper (Jordan), Austin Luffman (Brittany), Ryan Simpson, Riley Long (Braxton) and Aiden Byrd; and his stepgrandchildren, Allison Gorman (Greg) and Paula Hudson. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren as well as several devoted nieces and nephews.
