He is survived by: his wife Betty Layell; his daughter Lisa Morrison of Elkin; his sister Judy Evans of Hamptonville; his grandchildren, Cody Thompson (Deanna), Brock Thompson (Amber) and Brianna Thompson (Dax Maniette); and his great grandchildren, Landon Buchanan, Xavier Thompson, Talia Buchanan, Little Dax Maniette, Joseph Thompson, Jaxon Maniette and Skyler Thompson.
