She was predeceased by: her parents, John Henry and Frances Callahan Wilmoth; her husband Ronald "Rex" Melton; her brother Cleve Wilmoth; and her nephews, David Wilmoth, Jason Wilmoth and Gary Wilmoth.
She is survived by: her daughters, Tanya Jones (Walter) and Dana Mason (Robert); her grandchildren, Casey Wilmoth, Brandon, JC Mason, Mara Mashburn, Lewis, McKenzie Mosely, Chase and Zachary Reaves; her great grandchildren, Owen Wilmoth, Eliara Marshall, Brooke Wilmoth, Leo Mashburn, Rex Mosely, Dakota Mashburn and Kimberley Jones; and her siblings, Hazel Harper, Byrd Wilmoth and Junior Wilmoth (Linda). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Services (215 W Kapp St, Dobson, NC 27017). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gum Orchard Baptist Church (152 Poplar Springs Rd, Elkin, NC 28621). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Zephyr Cemetery (279 Poplar Springs Rd, Elkin, NC 28621).
