It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura Gentry Beamer (Elkin, North Carolina), born in Jonesville, North Carolina, who passed away on May 29, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Arvil Gentry and Alva Shafffner Gentry; her husband Billy G. Beamer; and her siblings, Loretta Binkley, Clara Tuttle, Mary Lou Edwards and Billy Joe Gentry.

She is survived by: her daughters, Melinda Cockerham (Keith) of State Road and Sherron Mooney (Scott) of Elkin; her grandchildren, Annie Walters (Kelly Calloway), Morgan Cockerham, Leah Cockerham, Chelsea Cockerham and Ethan Carroll; and her brothers, Evon Gentry of Winston Salem, George Gentry of Pffafftown and James Gentry of Winston-Salem.
