She was predeceased by: her parents, Porter Thompkins and Thelma Carrico Thompkins; and her husband Larry Carter. She is survived by: her children, Jaime Haynes (Brad) of Jonesville, Wendy Quesenberry (Wayne) of Dobson and Wayne Carter (Billye) of Elkin; her sisters, Marlene Williams (Johnny) of Sparta, Mildred Billings (Jack) of Sparta, Frances Rose of Kernersville and June Medley of Sparta; and her grandchildren, Jace Haynes, Jadyn Haynes, Madlyn Quesenberry, Dalton Quesenberry, Samantha Carter and Alexa Carter. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 1427 Edgewood Dr., Suite 101, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
