He is survived by: his wife Peggy Poplin; his sons, Bradley Poplin (Anne) of Traphill, Michael (Pamela Kernstine) of Cooleemee, Casey Poplin (Molly Widener) of Hillsville, VA, Matthew Lyons of Elkin and Joshua McDonald (Katie) of Forth Worth, TX; his brothers, Loyd Poplin (Carol) of Elkin, Charles Poplin of Jonesville and Dallas Poplin (Gisela) of State Road; and his grandchildren, Carson, Caybree, Liam, Jasmine, Olivia, Harper, Avery, Skyler and Lennon.
