She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Thomas Gallion and Carrie Mae Arrowood Gallion; her husband Garland Briscoe "Whitey" Lowery, Sr.; her children, Douglas Wayne Lowery and Pamela Darlene Lowery; her granddaughter Holly Joanna Mathis; and her siblings, Dorothy Hansen, Opal Mitchem, Mae Medford, Leroy Gallion, Rudolph Gallion, Everett Gallion, William Gallion and Lloyd Gallion.

She is survived by: her children, Garland Briscoe "Pete" Lowery Jr. (Kathi) of Bostic and Vivian Jill Lowery of Ellenboro; her grandsons, Cory James Lowery of Bostic, Joel Ryan Lowery (Emily) of Bryson City and Adam Wayne Mathis of Asheville; her great grandchildren, Felix Jaxon Mathis and Addison Jade "Addie" Lowery; and her caregivers, Mary Ann Johnson "The OG" and Melinda Henderson Medford "The Favorite".
