It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Louise Murray Gettys of Ellenboro, North Carolina, who passed away on May 4, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Durham Murray and Agnes May Green Murray; her husband James Emmett Gettys; and her brothers, Lester Murray and Walter Murray.
She is survived by: her children, Rodella Gold (Joe), Marilyn Powell (Gary), George Gettys (Donna), Walter Gettys and Calvin Gettys (Dana); her grandchildren, Jason Gold (Emily), James Gold (Christa), Anna Ledford (Jason), Laura Gammons (Patrick), Kelly Morris, Samantha Gettys Holick (Stephen), Morgan Laughlin (Spencer), Carson Gettys and Grant Gettys; her great grandchildren, Noah Gold, Katherine Gold, Jude Ledford, Aliza Ledford, Eva Morris, Cade Morris, Harper Gammons, McCoy Gammons, Ridge Laughlin, Knox Laughlin, Landry Gold and Rowen Gold; and her sisters, Eunice Murray Hoppes (Earl), Ruth Murray Arrowood (Ronnie) and Betty Murray Smith (Dennis). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
