He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Tate, Jr. and Joyce Tate; his brother Floyd Tate III; and his granddaughter Taylor Curry. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Tate; his children, Eva Harmon (Brian) of Spartanburg, Daniel Curry of Tomball, Tiffany Smith (Travis) of Cliffside, Beth Shehan (Mike) of Forest City, Nichole Timm of Cramerton, NC and Russhelle Nodine (Billy) of Ellenboro; and his sisters, Anna Maria Coffey (Joe) of Ellenboro and Chris Holland of Ellenboro. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A reception was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Harrelson Funeral Home (1251 US Hwy 221a, Forest City, NC 28043).
