He was predeceased by: his parents, Conway Bennett and Bertha Norville Bennett; and his brothers, J. E. Bennett and Tim Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Starla E. Bennett; his stepchildren, Matthew Cole Bridwell and Christy Bridwell Hall (Matt) of Lawndale; his siblings, Calvin Bennett, Bruce Bennett (Linda), Nan Tessiner (Arnold), Diane Bennick (Ted) and Patsy Boone; and his stepgrandchildren, Jay, Layla and Keagan.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Padgett and King Mortuary (227 E Main St, Forest City, NC 28043).
