He is survived by: his wife Jean Winstead Meeks; his children, Sherry Shafer (Clyde), Karen Williams of Wilson, Kathy Hammonds (Marty) of Wilmington, OH, Bryan Bishop of Boston, MA and Mike Williams of Wilson; and his grandchildren, Brittany Davis (Brandon) of Wilson, Katlin, Brandon Sandru, Clyde and Victoria Shafer.
