He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Daniel C. Hunter (Hunter) and Freddie Mae Knight Hunter of Montgomery; his wife Dr. Yardley N. Hunter of Elon; his children, Natasha Hunter, Steven Michael Hunter (Renee), Stephanie Wilson (James) and Michael Hoyes (Alexis); and his siblings, Dan Key (Wanda), Frederick Hunter (Edwinna), Lillie Martinez (Fernando), Joceslyn Boyd, Yvonne Burrell (Antonio), Willie Hunter, Ricky J. Cotton (Pat) and Daphne Hunter. He was also cherished by sister and brother -in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

“I cut Steve’s here every other Friday morning at 8 AM for the past 10 years. One of my first customers at the shop when I opened. Very sad news. Prayers to the family. You will be missed here at uptown barber studio, Steve.”
