It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ted Slaughter Sr. of Elon, North Carolina, who passed away on April 25, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Leamon Bradsher Slaughter and Candance Currin Slaughter; his sister Wilma Brooks; and his granddaughter Tina Wade Nisewonder. He is survived by : his wife Cleo Elizabeth Briggs Slaughter; his children, Vivian Lou Slaughter Wade of Burlington, Ted Slaughter, Jr. (Susan) of Roxboro, Bruce Sterling Slaughter (Dana) of Burlington and Thomas "Tommy" Mark Brosnan, Jr. of Burlington; his siblings, Tera Slaughter of Danville, VA, L. D. Slaughter of Graham and Rosa Brann of Roxboro; his grandsons, Brandon Ted Slaughter and Drake Sterling Slaughter (Samantha); his great grandchild Samantha Nisewonder Wright; and his great great grandchild Hunter Wright.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church (6035 Ridgeville Rd, Leasburg, NC 27291). A memorial service was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
