He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Alan and Iris Rose Fipps Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Joan Gould Thompson; his children, Kevin Thompson (Kate) of Raleigh, Ellen Brink (Bobby) of Cedar Point and Michelle Crawford (Thomas) of Emerald Isle; his grandchildren, Jack, Porter, Lydia, James, Macy, Rowan and Miles; and his sisters, Rhonda Thompson of Raleigh and Cherie Bevill (Billy) of Cedar Grove, NC..
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Emerald Isle Baptist Church (304 Emerald Plantation Rd, Emerald Isle, NC 28594).
