With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Reidhaar in Emerald Isle, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 29, 2025 at the age of 72. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Reidhaar to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his wife Kathy Reidhaar (Baker); his parents, Paul Reidhaar and Florence Reidhaar (Stahlschmidt); and his siblings, Barbara Parnin (Reidhaar) and Steve Reidhaar.

He is survived by: his daughters, Rebecca Schwope (David) and Paula Farnell (Robert); and his grandchildren, Matthew, Alison, Joshua Schwope, Liam and Madeline Farnell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Audubon Society, World Wildlife Fund, or American Diabetes Association.

“Jim was my graphic design professor at IU in the late 1980's. He was a talker and some of the younger students wished he would be briefer. I told them to keep listening because he had a lot of wisdom and experience to tell us. He was a very good teacher, and I enjoyed his classes. Our paths crossed often, and I always enjoyed talking with him. I asked for his help in designing a book several years ago and he spent a lot of time with me on it. He was a kind and interesting man. --Sharon Dickson”
