He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Bryan Gibbs and Nancy Ann Gibbs; his siblings, Joseph Gibbs, Henry Gibbs, Jr., Stewart Gibbs, Alma Gibbs, Olive Gibbs, Doris Meekins and Christine Williams; and his nieces and nephews, Gene Tooley Gibbs, Alice Ann Armstrong, Mary Joyce Gibbs, Whit Williams, Ricky Gibbs, Avis Mecolick, Karla Mooney, Stevie Gibbs, Jeffrey Gibbs and James Joseph Gibbs.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Pat Austin, Julie O'Neal, Kenny Gibbs, Telita Matkins of Luerain Buck, H. L, Meekins, Jessie Bell and Henry Gibbs, Jr.. He is also survived by 36 great-nieces/nephews and 37 great-great-nieces/nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bryan Funeral Service (119 Main St, Swanquarter, NC 27885). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Harris Gibbs Family Cemetery.
