With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Henry Thorpe (Ernul, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 1, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Thorpe and Lucille Thorpe (Barnum); his son-in-law Lee Griffin; and his sister Barbara Ates. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Thorpe; his children, Charlie Woznick (Jennifer), Colette Page (Todd) and Kelly Griffin (Ron Laubenheimer); his siblings, Matt Thorpe (Denise), Sara Monck (James), Lucille Thorpe, Mary "Cookie" Cushman and Judy DiTrocchio (Ralph); his grandchildren, Charlie Woznick Jr., Tylor Woznick, Matthew Page, Alyssa Scholz and Dylan Scholz; his great grandchildren, Colton, Wyatt, Shane, Victoria, Lilianna, Daphnie, Matthew, Malcolm and Myles; and his grandson Camo. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, John "Wooper", and family, ask that donations be made to one of the following: Little Swift Creek Fire Department, Maybrook Fire Department, where he dedicated 59 years of fire services to his communities, SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House, where he compassionately & comfortably spent his final days in the loving care of staff and family.
