It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Alwyn Byrd of Erwin, North Carolina, who passed away on April 11, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Bright Byrd and Vida Lenora Godwin Byrd; his wife Melba; and his siblings, Lindsey Byrd, Ervin Byrd, Weldon Byrd, Elva Melton and Jean Jobe.
He is survived by: his daughter Delia McMillan; his grandson Josh McMillan (Ashley); his great grandchildren, Gunner Cadwin McMillan and Rhett Alwyn McMillan; and his brother Reverend Kenneth Bright Byrd. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
