He was predeceased by : his parents, John Broughton and Della Mae Avery Turlington; and his siblings, Jesse C. Turlington and Inez Turlington Johnson. He is survived by : his wife Molly Fagan Turlington; his sister Lennie Turlington Surles of Erwin; and his close friend Rabbit Barrow (Bonnie) of Dunn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
