He was predeceased by: his parents, L. C. Coats and Jenny; and his sister Kim Hartley. He is survived by: his wife Susan Coats; his children, Wayne Coats (Angela) of Erwin, Kent Henderson (Heather) of Benson, Brandy Hutchings of Las Vegas and Johnny Jackson of Erwin; and his grandchildren, Dallas, Emma, Wyatt Coats, Lexi, Bubba, Lilyann, Bentley Henderson, AJ, Aurora and Ariel. He is also survived by his family and friends.
