He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Boyd Shackelford and Patsy Lue Shackelford Jackson; and his brother Billy Shackelford, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Cara Shackelford; his daughters, Bonnie Owens (Jason) of Stuttgart, Julia Shackelford of Erwin and Diana Shackelford of Erwin; his stepfather Donnie Jackson of Fayetteville; and his brothers, Hayden Shackelford (Theresa) of Creedmoor, Kenny Shackelford (Lorri) of Fayetteville and Dennis Shackelford (Connie) of Bunnlevel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Skinner & Smith Funeral Home (905 Erwin Rd, Dunn, NC 28334). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
