She was predeceased by: her former husband Cyrus Bowman Carter; her husband James Fletcher Parrish; her parents, Arvie L. Jackson and Woodrow McLamb; her siblings, Peggy Johnson Thigpen, Arvie Jackson Jr. and Anne J. Sykes; and her son Cyrus Bowman Carter Jr..

She is survived by: her stepson Jimmy Parrish (Cindy); her sisters, Barbara Bradshaw of Erwin and Charlene Sutton of Erwin; and her daughter Cynthia Dianne Carter of Newton Grove. She is also survived by 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

Donations can be made in her memory to the South Erwin Baptist Church: attention, Pastor Drew Parker.
