He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Cecil Griffin and Elrose Warwick Griffin; and his brother Jan Griffin. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Jackson Griffin; his son Joshua Anthony Griffin (Jenny) of Kentucky; his granddaughters, Abigail Rae Griffin and Madelyn Rose Griffin; and his sister Dee Lowery.
