Averi left this world on September 25, 2025 at the age of 39, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. Though Averi may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her mother Mary Katherine Bright Simmons; and her grandfathers, John L. Bright and Joseph L. Simmons, III. She is survived by: her father Joseph L. "Joey" Simmons, IV; her brother Joseph L.; her grandmothers, Lenora "Nonie" Raburn Bright and Audrey Fisher Simmons; her aunts, Debbie Webb of Knightdale, Beverly B. Meekins (Michael) of Engelhard and Pamela S. Cahoon (Guire) of Swan Quarter; and her uncle Donald Glenn Simmons (Kim) of Engelhard.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Bryan Funeral Service (119 Main St, Swanquarter, NC 27885). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Of Christ Church Cemetery.
