He was predeceased by : his parents, David H. Gaddy Sr. and Roxie Ford Gaddy; his daughter Carolyn; his wife Landa; and his brother J. T..

He is survived by : his children, Dennis (Jackie) of Knightdale, NC and Linda Gaddy Chatmon; his grandchildren, Bryon "Terry" Gaddy (Michelle), Justin Gaddy, Michael Chatmon Jr., Jocelyn Chatmon, Ashley Robbins (Jordan), April Lee (Melvin) and Elizabeth Gray; his great grandchildren, Kiara, Lenny, Harvey, Melvin (IV), Justice, Jason, Kyrie, Jordan, Maliyah, Jayda, Jayden, Noah and Kirden; and his siblings, Sadie MacEachin and Charles Gaddy of Cincinnati. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
