He was predeceased by : his parents, Sam Arnette and Vivian Bass Arnette; his grandson Eric Arnette; and his siblings, J. D. Arnette, Burnell Rogers and Lucille Huggins.

He is survived by : his wife Georgia Rose Cox Arnette; his children, Ken Arnette (Wanda) of Fairmont, NC and Lorna Kay Peterson (Ralph) of Weddington, NC; his grandchildren, Kena Grimsley (Al), Blake and Aaron Peterson; his great grandchildren, Ava and Loralai Grimsley; and his brother Bill Arnette of Dillon, SC..
