He is survived by: his cousins, Eldry "Pappy" Jr., Perry "Pico", Norman "Wendell" Thompson and Reta Thompson-Powell; his wife Dianne Thompson of Virginia Beach, VA.; his children, Felecia Ann McLean of Fairmont, NC, Bonita Powell of Charlotte, NC, Tonja Watson of Fairmont, NC, LaDinnah Thompson of Chesapeake, VA., Derrick LaMorris of Boston Massachusetts and Clinton Norman Watson Sr. of Boston Massachusetts; his siblings, Alberta Thompson of Fairmont, NC and James Cleveland Thompson Jr. (Melissa) of Atlanta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Jamel Mclean, Joshua Mclean, Jasmine Kesler, JaMorris Kesler (Antoinette), Shaniah, Jerrick Powell, Trevion Paige, Marcus, Rha'Asia Leonard, Takara Hamilton, Lael, Gianna, Lavant, Kaleb Watson, Erica Connally, Maquis Campbell, Joyce Lewis and Eyianna Watson; and his close friends, Loretta Moody, Willie Powell Jr. and Larry "Buddy" Powell.
Viewing was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Worley Mortuary & Cremation Services (200 Sandy St, Fairmont, NC 28340). A celebration of life was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
