It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nancy Carolyn Locklear Cummings of Fairmont, North Carolina, who passed away on May 30, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Braxton Locklear and Movines Locklear; her husband John Cummings; her children, Robin Cummings and Debra Strickland; and her siblings, Purnell Locklear and Priscilla Lewis.
She is survived by: her children, Marty Cummings (Tamela) of Lumberton and Carol Locklear (Stuart) of Lumberton; her brother Fred Locklear (Margie) of Maxton; her grandchildren, Joshua Deal, Laura Britt (Charlie), Travis Deal (Baleigh), Courtney Strickland (Zharome Carmichael), Austin Cummings, Brandon Cummings and Julius Cummings; her great grandchildren, Charly Britt, Marshall Britt, Nevaeh Cummings and Remi Deal; her daughter-in-law Christina Cummings; and her close friends, Brrandon Walker, Mary and Loretta. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Floyd Funeral Services Chapel (1549 Marion Stage Rd, Fairmont, NC 28340). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery (427 Gaddy Rd, Fairmont, NC 28340). A burial will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at the same location.
