It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Motley of Fairview, North Carolina, who passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Betty may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Shelby Gunn Gaskin and Shirley Donnell; and her husband James E. Motley. She is survived by: her daughter Ellen S. Howard of Purvis, MS; and her sisters, Shirley G. Sweet of Hoschton, GA and Sally G. Gaskin of Fairview, NC. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
