He was predeceased by : his parents, Alfred "Therell" Gilliam and Carrie "Mae" Pittillo Gilliam; his wife Elva Mae Harding Gilliam; and his siblings, Edwin, Sherell, Jody, John Gilliam and Barbara Pressley.
He is survived by : his children, Gail Levi of Fairview, NC and Jerry Gilliam of Candler, NC; his grandsons, Kyle Gilliam (Lexy Reynolds) of Charlotte, NC, Westley Gilliam of California and Joshua Worley of Fairview, NC; his great grandchild Corra Ann Gilliam of Charlotte, NC; and his sister Shirley Whittimore of Winston-Salem, NC.
