It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Leake Hamer of Fairview, North Carolina, born in Clinton, South Carolina, who passed away on February 24, 2026, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Pickett Hamer and Lydie Holland Leake Hamer; and his brother Robert "Bobby" Hamer. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Fryfogle Hamer; his children, Elizabeth McRae Hamer and Lincoln Heath Hamer; his grandsons, Heath William Hamer and Pierce Michael Hamer; and his sisters, Elizabeth Jane Hamer Crandall of Black Mountain, NC and Janet Leake Hamer Holcombe (Scooter) of Cary, NC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
