She was predeceased by: her parent Dock Martin Best; and her husband William S. Lockamy. She is survived by: her siblings, Elder Dock M. Best and Winnie Royal; her children, Michael Lockamy (Cynthia) and Berry Carter (Joshua); her grandchildren, Israel Nisan Lockamy, Naomi Jael Lockamy, Joshua Carter IV (Lindsey) and Barry Matthew Carter; her great grandchildren, Joslyn and Laylah; and her sister Rachel Ragin. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM at the Christ Church (130 White Oak St, Newton Grove, NC 28366). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at the Hillcrest Memorial Park (3620 Roseboro Hwy, Clinton, NC 28328).
