Ronald leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Ronald’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Ronald will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James David Sloan and Bertha McGrew Sloan Hailwood; his wife Melvia; and his sister Betty Oiler. He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Bowman of Faison and James David Sloan of Canal Winchester, Ohio; and his sister Norma Johnson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
The military honors will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Faison Cemetery (110 NE Center St, Faison, NC 28341).
