He was predeceased by: his parents, Winfred Lee Jones (Winnie) and Martha June Gibbs Jones; his wife Betty Brown Jones; his daughter Cathy Elaine Jones; his siblings, Winfred Jones, Joe Jones, Bill Jones, Ruby J. Powell and Dixie J. Jordan; and his grandson Dawayne Combs.
He is survived by: his son Morris F.; his granddaughter Christie Sloop; his great grandchildren, Christopher Greer, Casey Combs of Hunter Combs and Allman; his great great grandchildren, Aubrey and Caleb Greer; his brothers, Jack Jones, Clyde Jones and Charles Jones; and his close friends, Judy Bouldin and Lorie Jones.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Whitley's Funeral Home (1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd, Kannapolis, NC 28083). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Brookhill Memorial Gardens (8625 US-52, Rockwell, NC 28138).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Nazareth Children's Home- 855 Crescent Road Rockwell, NC 28138.
