He is survived by: his daughters, Anita Atkins and Beverly Brackett; his siblings, J. D. Self, Ted Brackett, Lucy Bumgardner, Dessie Brackett and Carrie Lovelace; his wife Eleanor Brackett; his son Bill Brackett (Crystal) of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Pasha Goodman (Chad), Brad Atkins (Cary), Savannah Brackett and Brent Atkins; his stepchildren, Doyle Neason (Cindy) and Amy Dixon (Mark); his grandchildren, Jennifer Floyd (Jayson), Michael Neason, Kimberly Vasquez (Guadalupe) and Will Dixon (Samantha); Gavin, Grant, Grady, Graham, Rayia, Colton, Casen, Jackson, Olivia, Lyric, Alyssa, Guady and Alejandro.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Westview Baptist Church (500 Melody Ln, Shelby, NC 28152). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
