He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Ray and William Arthur Willis; and his daughter Lisa Adams. He is survived by: his brothers, Ray, Robert, Calvin and John; his grandchildren, Gene, Butterbean and Heather; his wife Mamie; his great grandchildren, Matthew, Ashley Adams and Ethan Ammon; his children, Amy Marlowe (David) and Michael Willis (Tammy); his grandchildren, Michael Willis Jr., Justin Willis (Shelby), William Marlowe and Griffin Willis; and his great grandchildren, Wesley Goins, Noah Willis, Aiden Adams, Lawson Willis and Halston Willis. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UNC Children's Hospital's Cancer programs through UNC Health Foundation's website or to Sherwood Presbyterian Church.
