With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Black Sr. of Fayetteville, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 2, 2025 at the age of 89. He was predeceased by: his mother Nellie Jane Beaty Black; his wife Frances M. Black; and his siblings, Grady Black, J. Harvey Black, John Black, Jim Black, Thomas M. Black, W. Clifford Black, Margaret E. Boyd, Mittie L. Black, Nell J. Adkins, Kathleen A. Small and Frankie H. Beaty.
He is survived by: his father Hugh Grady Black; his children, Charles W. Black, Jr. (Lori) and Sherry E. Black; his grandchildren, Melissa Haynes (Jason) and Charles A. Black; and his great grandchildren, Nick Haynes and Allison Haynes. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Westminster Presbyterian Church (2505 Village Dr, Fayetteville, NC 28304). A reception was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, Building Fund, 2505 Village Dr, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
