We announce the death of Donald Jasper Hemingway of Fayetteville, North Carolina, who passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 67. Donald will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Manley Hemingway and Shirley Marie Bunnells Hemingway; and his sisters, Geneva Fay Hemingway and Peggy Piet. He is survived by: his sisters, Patricia A. Matthews (Danny), Kim Jones, Kaitlyn Matthews and Christian Matthews; his son Davis Phillip Privette (Brenda); his grandchild Bernie Kaita; his fiancée Mary M. Tackett; and his daughters, Sabrina, Catherine, Jessica, Tammie, Chrissy, Darlene and Cheryl. He is also survived by 18 grandkids; 15 great grandkids; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Pinecrest Funeral & Cremation Services (4721 Dunrobin Dr, Hope Mills, NC 28348). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 at the Hope Mills Cemetery (4850 Legion Rd, Hope Mills, NC 28348).
