He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Carson and Bessie Breece Edge; his son John Robert; his wife Doris Elizabeth Thornton; and his sister Clara McCabe.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Wayne, Dorothy Marie and Deborah Creech; his brother Burnice (Edith); and his sister-in-law Melvene Thornton. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
