She is survived by: her husband Hugh Davis Burton, Jr.; her children, Cynthia (Trent Palmer) of Parkton and Davis (Karen) of Holly Ridge; her grandchildren, Caroline Parnell of Mt. Juliet, TN, Robert Parnell of Durham and Courtney Schmitter (Steven) of Wilmington; her great grandchildren, Harper and Eliza Bailey Schmitter; her siblings, Eleanor Wannamaker of Norway, SC and J. B. Sineath, III (Mary Ann) of Ellabell, GA; her siblings-in-law, Margaret (Jim) of Greensboro, Mary (D. C.) of Fayetteville and Harold Moag of Greensboro; and her close friend Doris Kirby. She is also survived by 11 nieces and one nephew.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Hay St UMC Steeple Fund.
