He is survived by : his wife Eva; his children, Rodney Burns (Marilyn) and Tonya Burns McLean (Dwayne); his sisters, Katie Fisher and Sarah Ford; and his grandchildren, Marquel Burns, Roderick Burns (Ashley) and Shontia Burns. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wiseman Mortuary (431 Cumberland St, Fayetteville, NC 28301). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Savannah Baptist Church (6675 Tabor Church Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28312).
