He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel E. Ray and Ruth Hunt Nobles. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Britt Ray; his grandchildren, Wesley, Emily, Madison, Stephanie and Alex; and his siblings, Karen Fields (Curtis), Jacob Thomas Nobles Jr. "Tommy" and Patty Marter (Brian).
