He was predeceased by: his wife Joanne Near; and his parents, Laurence Near and Margaret Near. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Joanna Corretjer, Christina Corretjer and Jorge Corretjer; his stepgrandchildren, Anthony Zito, Samantha Zito and Rain Grace Corretjer; his in-laws, Kelly Serafin, Wayne Sorensen Jr., Jacqueline Rice, Joyce Sorensen, Ann Sorensen, Deborah Sorensen and Charles Rice; and his sibling's children, Tiffani Serafin, Christopher Serafin, Wayne Robert Sorensen, Brittany Sorensen, Thomas Terlizzi Jr., April Armstrong, Dustin Terlizzi and Nicholas Terlizzi.
