He is survived by: his parents, Patrick McHugh and Louise McHugh; his brothers, Joseph McHugh (Peggy) of Portage Indiana and Michael McHugh of Grand Prairie, TX; his sons, Cameron of DesMoines, IA. and Clayton of DesMoines, IA.; his close friend Dixie Canon of Fayetteville, NC; his granddaughter Abigail Canon of Belleville, WI; his pet Annabelle; Scott Canon (Latisha) of Belleville, WI and Matthew Canon (Lori) of Wake Forest, NC.

Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, IL or the North Carolina Lions Foundation.
