She was predeceased by: her parents, Franz Maurer and Anna Maurer; and her son Theo Pfadisch. She is survived by: her husband Robert Slavey; her daughters, Martha Sheeder (Mark) and Elizabeth Simmons (Ryan); her grandchildren, Michael Sheeder, Matthew Sheeder and Logan Simmons; and her great grandchildren, Savannah Sheeder and Noah Sheeder.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Martha's name to Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation's Cancer Care Fund at P.O. Box 87526, Fayetteville, NC 28304 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
