She was predeceased by: her parents, Bronzie Bruce Patterson and Eva Kate Sessoms Patterson; and her brothers, Donald Bruce Patterson, Charles Henry Patterson and Johnny Fulmer Patterson.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Louis Vander Zwalm; her son Gary Earl Dudley (Melissa Godwin Dudley); her granddaughters, Katie and Lillie Dudley; and her siblings, Betty Patterson Lilley and Lynwood Best Patterson (Nancy Lynne Johnson). She is also survived by three nieces and a nephew.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Temple Baptist Church (3159 Sanderosa Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28312). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
