She is survived by : her children, Debra Carmichael, Irish Sanders, Thomasina Smutherman, Lisa Caver, Laura Malcolm and Allison Smutherman; and her brothers, Eddie J. Carmichael and Larry Carmichael. She is also survived by many grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wiseman Mortuary Chapel (431 Cumberland St, Fayetteville, NC 28301). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Evans Metropolitan A. M. E. Zion Church (301 N Cool Spring St, Fayetteville, NC 28301).
