He was predeceased by: his parents, George McClellan and Eunile McClellan; his wife Mildred McClellan; his son Harold McClellan; and his grandson Jonathan McClellan.

He is survived by: his siblings, Dale McClellan (Kathryn), DeArvin McClellan (Doris) and Clydeann McClellan; his children, Max McClellan Jr. (Donna), David McClellan (Charmayne) and Dana McClellan (Karen); his daughters-in-law, Della McClellan and Kerbeline Carter (Pete); his family, Max III, Kristina, Jeff, Melonie Rumler, Matthew, Rae, Christopher, Kaira, Stephen, Kristi, Kyle, Jessica, Luke, Christina (Emerson), Sam (Leah) and Kendall (Easton); and his great great grandchildren, Malik and Zeke. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
